FanGraphs | Dan Szymborski: Miles Mikolas, aka the Lizard King, got a hearty extension with the Cardinals, inking a four-year, $68 million deal. Featuring a mid-90s fastball and a devastating slider, ZiPS still doesn’t see much regression from his stellar rookie year, and it goes as far to say he is worth as much as $83 million.
Baseball Prospectus | Zach Crizer ($): Max Scherzer invoked Greg Maddux when he signed his deal with the Nationals, and they have some similarities other than the same number. They have aged similarly from ages 30 to 33, and if Scherzer puts together the next couple of years we think he will, then he could cement himself as an all-time great as well.
The Ringer | Zach Kram: Nolan Arenado signed his extension with the Rockies, and what a great thing that is for the city of Colorado. He gets to play more of his seasons at Coors Field, and could both cement himself as one of the greatest defensive third basemen ever, and one of the best Rockies ever, alongside the likes of Todd Helton and Larry Walker.
