FanGraphs | Jeff Sullivan: Daniel Descalso isn’t the most exciting signings the Cubs could make, but he has recently approached his own personal ceiling, boosting his power numbers through more fly balls and a small swing change. He’s versatile, as well, and the Cubs could use that, too.

The Athletic | Sung Min Kim ($): Merrill Kelly is yet another KBO import to the Diamondbacks, and he is sporting great performance in a stretch run in an offense-heavy league, newly-found velocity, and added spin could make him the next Miles Mikolas in 2019.

The Ringer | Ben Lindbergh: Trey Hillman has titles as a manager with the KBO’s SK Wyverns, the NPB’s Nippon-Ham Fighters, and now he will be a first base coach for the Marlins, the one professional baseball league he still needs a ring in. This is a really cool profile about an interesting guy, so you should check it out beyond that factoid.
