One of the services we like to provide here at Beyond the Box Score is knowledge. And oftentimes, we're not the best or first place to go to get it. (We try to be, but no one's perfect.) So one of the things we strive to do is point people towards the best possible resources, articles, and data.
So, here's a link to the updated Analytics Toolbox!
Our Analytics Toolbox contains four categories of links: data sources, analysis, tools, and references.
Data sources are intended to point you towards the stats, and the data points, that we here at BtBS use as a foundation for most of our research and analysis.
Analysis is baseball writing that (hopefully) skews objective and adds to the best conversations that surround the sport.
Tools are, well, tools -- applications of data that allow you to find additional information or run your own analysis.
And Reference is exactly what you think it is -- links to places where you can find out more about terms and practices used in sabermetrics and baseball analysis.
You can find the Analytics Toolbox in the link above, but also at the top of your screen under the "Library" heading on every page. Check it!
We're always welcoming of comments -- especially when it comes to new things that we can add to the toolbox. Drop by the Twitter feed, leave a comment, whatever you can do. Help us out as we try to collect as much good information as we can, and pass it along.
