Ranking Minor League Systems Using Victors Wang's Prospect Valuations
Nice way to see how minor league systems are doing.

That's phenomenal.
When Erik aggregated all that info last off-season I was mesmerized.
It’s really interesting to see three of the four most famous saber-slanted teams at the top.
The pattern seems to be (and this comes through in Wang’s data, obviously) load up on C+ pitching prospects and find a few stud position player prospects.

Oh, man
I got beat to the punch. Was hoping to do a whole series on this again. At least I’m spared of the work.

Sorry erik
The nerd inside of me just had to get the math done when John was done. With that said, you can still do the series because all of my work was done using John’s grades, while Wang’s research is based on BA’s Top 100 and John’s grades.

I do like all the systems charted out
easy to pick up presentation. Cardinals bottoming out isn’t surprising, but still sort of sad.

Not a surprised that saber slanted teams (like the indians and A’s) are near the top. I am glad my indians were ranked number 1. not surprised though how they rebuilt that farm system. not surprised the nats were bad. even though they are bad, they just have no talent…and the phillies traded away their whole farm system.

I’m assuming this is a change for the Indians if compared to a few years ago. Oakland was obviously doing it a year or so ago, and then it became apparent last season that Cleveland was targeting quantity in pitching prospects as return on the majority of their fire sale trades.

I'd like to see the same thing
done with other prognosticators’ rankings. Sickels has certain biases that I think undervalue high upside guys that don’t have much of a track record yet. It would be interesting to compare values using his letter grades with, say, BP’s star system.
I wish that Law and BA would use some sort of rating system instead of, or in addition to a ranking.
