Episode 4: Sara Stokesbury, Julia Prusaczyk, and the relative importance of velocity

MLB: Washington Nationals at Los Angeles Dodgers Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

This week we have a shorter episode, in which Sara Stokesbury and Julia Prusaczyk (both of Beyond the Box Score and The Hardball Times) join host Evan Davis (Beyond the Box Score, Today's Knuckleball) to discuss their article and SaberSeminar presentation on the relative importance of velocity. It’s pretty good, and you should give it a listen. There’s some cool info on not only this specific research project, but how Sara and Julia went about their research in general.

Check out the article on their project over at The Hardball Times here!

Oh yeah, and we’re excited to announce two things. The first? We are finally on iTunes! Make sure to check us out, rate, and subscribe to us at this location.

The second? You might’ve noticed we now have music! Big thanks to our Trapdoor Social for letting us use their songs ‘Back to Somewhere’ and ‘Sunshine’ off their new self-titled album. You can find them on iTunes here, on their website here, and on Facebook here. They’re great, so you should listen to their stuff. I know I did.

As for our other stuff, you can follow us on Twitter, tweet us questions, and ask Evan who would win a fight between a turtle and a hedgehog here.
