Three interesting pieces to point you to today:
- First (really, first), is Dan Fox's column on why baseball players are probably better now than they ever have been. It's an issue that's been tackled before, many times, but Fox's take is definitely worth reading.
- Dave Studeman looks at the top 40 players of all time by Win Shares Above Bench. Everybody on the list is a Hall of Famer, a very probable future HOF, or Pete Rose...except for Dick Allen.
- Tango takes his own look at umpires and their strike zones. It's not as pretty as Ryan Armbrust's analysis this past weekend, but there are more equations.
