ESPN: Four minor league pitchers received 10-game bans for foreign substance use. The four pitchers were Kai-Wei Teng of the Giants, Mason Englert of the Rangers, and Sal Biasi and Marcus Evey of the White Sox.

Jake Mailhot | FanGraphs: Chris Taylor has quietly been very good but upstaged by his excellent teammates. His game-saving 14-pitch at bat from Monday put him in the national light, and it was also a fitting microcosm for his second breakout.

Chris McShane | Amazin’ Avenue: Arizona Diamondbacks manager once again made racist dog-whistle comments about a player. This time, Marcus Stroman was his target because Stroman wore a do-rag.

Quick Hits

Cody Bellinger hit his first homer of the year, a grand slam to cap off an 11-run first inning.

Bo Bichette hit a game-tying triple in the ninth inning.

Javier Baez hit a two-run homer to help the Cubs sweep the Padres. The Cubs are 9-1 in their last 10 games.
