Darby Robinson | DRays Bay: Wander Franco, the best overall prospect in baseball, has been called up and will be on the big league roster when the Rays open a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox. The 21-year-old hit .315/.367/.586 at Triple-A this season.

Alex Hall | Athletics Nation: The A’s optioned Jesús Luzardo to Triple-A on Monday. The demotion comes after the promising, young lefty turned in a 6.87 ERA in 38 innings split between the rotation and the bullpen. To take Luzardo’s place on the roster, the A’s called up Domingo Acevedo.

Devan Fink | FanGraphs: Juan Soto hasn’t been himself this season. The young slugger only has a 130 wRC+, and it would be easy to blame it on his high ground ball rate. It’s a little more complicated than that, though.

Quick Hits

Jake Cronenworth blew open Monday’s matchup between the Dodgers and Padres with a two-run home run off Julio Urías,

Javier Báez forgot how many outs there were and turned a one-out pop-fly into an inning-ending double play.

From right field, Ronald Acuña Jr. threw out Pete Alonso attempting to go first-to-third.
