Morning Mound Visit: Marlins Park gets horrible new name

A name worse than Guaranteed Rate Field; Odor out of Texas; Tony Gwynn appreciation

Barry Jackson | Miami Herald: Marlins Park has been a given a new name, and boy, is it awful. The Marlins’ new home will now be known as loanDepot park. The ‘p’ in park will not be capitalized. The Marlins will make nearly $10 million annually from selling the naming rights which is over 20 percent of their 2021 payroll.

Jay Jaffe | FanGraphs: Rougned Odor isn’t making the Texas Rangers Opening Day lineup. The player who was signed to a six-year, $49.5 million extension four years ago will instead be designated for assignment. Since signing that extension, Odor has hit .215/.279/.418 for a 74 wRC+.
