Kris Willis | Talking Chop: Atlanta shut out the Astros 7-0 to win their first World Series since 1995. Jorge Soler hit a ball to the moon, Max Fried pitched a gem, and Freddie Freeman got the final putout. Soler’s efforts earned him World Series MVP honors.

Brian Menéndez | Baseball Prospectus $: Phil Maton went from just another middle reliever to pitching high leverage innings in the World Series. The Astros weaponized Maton’s offerings and turned him into a major threat out of the ole arm barn.

Jake Mailhot | FanGraphs: No team’s future is less certain than the Oakland Athletics’. Ownership seems hellbent on moving to Las Vegas, and Bob Melvin jumped ship after 11 years when his option for 2022 had already been picked up. Another fire sale appears likely despite the team competing for a playoff spot in the final week of the regular season.
