Joe Lucia | Awful Announcing: Losing Len Kasper to White Sox radio was a real gut punch for Cubs fans, but Monday’s news softened the blow a bit. The Marquee Network announced that Boog Sciambi would be the Cubs’ new play-by-play announcer. While it’s nearly impossible to replace Kasper, Marquee could have done far worse here.

Brady Klopfer | McCovey Chronicles: After an uneven debut by Joey Bart, the Giants don’t appear to be ready to hand their top prospect the back-up catcher job just quite yet. The Giants re-signed Chadwick Tromp earlier in the offseason and just yesterday signed Curt Casali to a one-year, $1.5 million deal.

Rob Mains | Baseball Prospectus $: Pitcher wins have never been less relevant in statistical discussion as they are now, but they’ve also never been harder to get. With starters throwing fewer innings, getting that meaningless W in the box score is getting more and more difficult.
