FanGraphs | Jay Jaffe: Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, which is expected to only accelerate, the catalyst being NBA player Rudy Gobert getting infected and subsequently infecting his team and every arena he played in. That prompted MLB, NHL, and the NCAA to follow suit. This is all awful, but the time is now to hunker down and make the best of it.
Baseball Prospectus | Marc Normandin ($): A bigger concern in all of this, though, is the plight of minor leaguers, who will also have their season suspended and have not received a single paycheck since last year. Baseball needs to do the right thing and make sure these players are taken care of until things go back to normal (and even then, pay them more).
The Athletic | Jayson Stark ($): It seemed like a normal season.... until it wasn’t. People really thought things would be business as usual, until they weren’t. I would imagine people are coming around to that reality now or very soon.
