MLB: New York Yankees-Workouts Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

FanGraphs | Craig Edwards: The Yankees will have the highest payroll to enter the season for the first time since 2013, with that number being just a shade below $250 million. The Dodgers are right behind, and they, the Yankees, and the Nationals had the biggest offseason payroll additions, while the Red Sox and Mariners shed over $40 million.

The Ringer | Michael Baumann: The Astros’ scandal rages on, with no easy solution. One could create a fact-finding commission to try to find an equitable solution, but the multi-lateral nature of owners, the commissioner, players vs. players, union vs. teams, union vs. commissioner only complicates the matter.

The Athletic | Eno Sarris ($): Beer is important to baseball fans when they enter a stadium, which is why I always check out the selection rankings before I enter any new ballpark. You’ll be unsurprised to hear that the Mariners and Padres have the best beer selection, with the Yankees and Blue Jays all the way at the bottom. I know all too well how hard it is to find craft beer at Yankee Stadium.
