Morning Mound Visit: 119 minor league teams receive invitations to keep affiliation

J.J. Cooper | Baseball America $: The culling of more than 40 minor league teams is just about complete. MLB sent out 119 invitations on Wednesday leaving some teams like the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes to find out their affiliation had been severed on Twitter. Baseball America has the list of all 119 teams to receive an invitation.

Christian Romo | Amazin’ Avenue: The market started to move on James McCann on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, it looked like McCann was going to sign with the Mets on a four-year deal, but the Angels emerged as a rival suitor.

Evan Drellich | The Athletic $: It’s clear that MLB and the MLBPA don’t trust each other. With the collective bargaining agreement expiring after next season, animosity between the two sides sure seems like a bad thing, but it doesn’t necessarily mean negotiations are doomed before they begin.
