On Thursday, Hulu subscribers were notified that Fox regional sports networks were being cut from the streaming service’s Hulu + Live TV package. Also getting dropped is the Cubs’ Marquee Sports Network, and the Yankees’ YES Network.
With MLB.tv’s blackout restrictions, this makes it that much harder for local fans to watch teams like the Royals. The only streaming service that carries Fox Sports Kansas City now is AT&T TV Now which runs $80 month.
Jake Mailhot | FanGraphs: The Dodgers took their dominance to another level this year, but it wasn’t just the addition of Mookie Betts that brought them to the World Series for the third time in four years. Corey Seager is healthy and looks no worse for wear. The NLCS MVP is having a tremendous postseason.
Justin Klugh | Baseball Prospectus $: Despite blockbuster trades and free agent signings, the Phillies haven’t been anything more than mediocre under principal owner John Middleton. Gabe Kapler and Matt Klentak drew much of the blame for the team not meeting expectations, but with both out of the picture, it should be clear the buck stops at Middleton.
James Fox | South Side Sox: The White Sox have a managerial opening after Rick Renteria and the club parted ways. The job in Chicago should be highly coveted considering the team’s position, and Rick Hahn has plenty of great candidates plus Tony La Russa to choose from.
