FanGraphs | Craig Edwards: Mike Trout became the highest paid player ever, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t leave money on the table. Both of Alex Rodriguez’s, and Derek Jeter’s, contracts were higher in 2019 value, yet the only comp Trout has through his age with his performance is... Ty Cobb. He will be worth his weight in gold over the next decade.

The Athletic | Eno Sarris ($): There are plenty of Trout fun facts, but they can all be summed up by the fact that he is the best player right now, more valuable than Bryce Harper and Manny Machado combined, and already one of the best hundred players ever. He is on pace to be one of the best players ever, and it won’t be close.

The Ringer | Ben Lindbergh: The Red Sox won the World Series, and they’re going to test whether largely keeping the gang together will work. A lot of winning teams do this, and it makes sense to keep a great team together, but it could lead to complacency, combined with a bullpen that is largely in shambles.
