Fun offseason or not; updates to DRC+; no more justifications for not spending

FanGraphs | Jeff Sullivan: Has this been a fun or boring offseason? It could be fun because there’s always suspense waiting on the players to sign, or boring because one may want an NBA-like bonanza signing period. I personally prefer the latter, to be honest.

Baseball Prospectus | Jonathan Judge: Updates have been rolled out to DRC+, mostly to address some concerns readers had to version 1.0. Updates to how park factors are weighted, as well as outlier seasons, give slightly better adjustments to those playing in Coors Field or an offense-suppressing environment, which should help those (myself included) who raised an eyebrow over Rockies players.

The Ringer | Michael Baumann: This isn’t 1994, and fans are getting more frustrated with ownership than they would have in the past. With the offseason at a stand-still and the best players unsigned, there’s nothing to talk about except... why not? The justifications from owners around “financial flexibility” are holding less weight with the public, and that will likely continue through the possible labor impasse.
