MLB: San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

FanGraphs | Ben Clemens: The Padres signed Drew Pomeranz to a four-year, $34 million deal, surprising considering he’s making his bones as a reliever and not a starter like one would think. By joining a pen with Kirby Yates, San Diego could have a formidable back-end as a team on the rise.

Baseball Prospectus | Matthew Trueblood ($): Let’s say, for argument’s sake, that the Mookie Betts rumors are true. Where would he go? Well, he could go to the Dodgers for a Dustin May and Keibert Ruiz prospect package, or in a Phillies Jean Segura-and-prospect-based deal, to name a couple. Either way, it’s going to be tough to get a suitable prospect package considering it’s for just a single year and nearly $30 million.

The Athletic | Rustin Dodd & Marc Carig ($): Nothing much more to say here than the All-Decade Team. It’s a great idea—I won’t spoil who’s on it—but I recommend reading this one and the All-Decade Teams for all 30 teams that The Athletic created.
