Baseball Prospectus | Rob Mains: It is DRC+ Day Plus 1, and people are already asking: how does this new stat compare to OPS and wRC+? While the latter two are essentially identical to each other in correlation, there’s a bit of distance between them and DRC+, which takes a more moderated view of offensive production.

FanGraphs | Jeff Sullivan: The Indians are probably going to trade one of Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer, or Carlos Carrasco, and that’s unprecedented for a team that expects to win first place in the division next year. But that’s enviable position because if they manage to both win the division and acquire new star prospects, they could further extend a contention window that is already smaller in a market plagued by attendance issues.

The Athletic | Eno Sarris ($): The Mariners definitely got decent value back in the trades to kick off their rebuild, but they definitely ceded some higher level talent in exchange for salary relief, even if it is technically relieved salary for when they expect to contend next.
