The Ringer | Michael Baumann: Addison Russell was suspended for 40 games following Melisa Reidy’s blog post that led to an investigation concluding that he violated the domestic violence clause of the CBA. The suspension rings hollow both because it pales in comparison to the draconian PED suspension policy, and because nothing in an entertainment industry’s domestic violence policy will look anything like restorative justice. Domestic violence will always be difficult to prosecute, but it’s still baseball’s job to be better on the issue moving forward.
