The surging Red Sox not only continue to be the best scoring team, but their run prevention inched ever closer to league average over the past week.
Despite Ike Davis and David Wright still sitting the the disabled list, the Mets have maintained a slightly above average offense. Combine that with improvement of late among their starters (runs allowed improved from 82% to 88% of league average) and it's not unrealistic that they could compete for the NL Wild Card.
