MLB Taking Action Against Toronto Blue Jays

New, comments

Major League Baseball stepped in today and is forcing Toronto to use the correct conversion rate for the home runs hit by a Canadian team.  Currently Toronto has hit 91 home runs to lead all of baseball, but with the current conversion rate only 68% of those home runs should count.  That would put Toronto with 62 homeruns, or 5th in the majors.

Bud Selig stated, "MLB has always converted home runs from Canadian numbers to United States numbers and we are asking them to correct the inaccuracies immediately."  Alex Anthopoulos, the Blue Jays General Manager responded, "I don't know why the home run conversion was used in the past, but the Blue Jays will no longer be using the the conversion factor."
