Graph of the Day: Shortest Home Runs By Standard Distance

On Sunday, I posted the longest home runs hit this year, adjusted for atmospheric effects.  Today, I'll post the accompaniment to that graph.  Here are the shortest home runs to date, by a much more diverse group than the mashers who hit the long bombs: Chase Utley, Adam Kennedy, Adam LaRoche, James Loney, and David Ortiz.  There's a lot of wind at work with these bombs, with average impact due to wind at a massive 35 feet.

Really, though, here in the baseball world, there's only one graph that matters today.

Enjoy the return to action, and good luck to everybody's favorite team in the second half.
