Saw this on Baseball America:
Florida State suffered a significant blow today, announcing that freshman lefthander Kyle Long has withdrawn from the school, citing academic concerns.
Apparently Long will head to a junior college closer to his hometown. I believe this also means Long will be draft eligible next season. As you may recall, Long was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 23rd round last June, but chose to attend FSU rather than sign. I know it's a little early to think about the draft, but I wonder if this makes him more likely to sign next year (assuming he's drafted).
