Couple of smaller deals

I'll update this thread as the day goes on. Thanks to Joe Hamrahi at Baseball Digest Daily for giving me the heads up on these deals.

  • Other Transactions
  • The DRays have recalled infielders B.J. Upton and Ben Zobrist

  • The Braves keep dealing, sending Jorge Sosa to the Cardinals in exchange for RHP Rich Scalamandre.

  • Julio Lugo is going to Los Angeles in exchange for Joel Guzman and Sergio Pedroza.

  • The Royals send Jeremy Affeldt and Denny Bautista to the Rockies in exchange for Ryan Shealy and Scott Dohman.

  • Trot Nixon is headed to the disabled list after an odd looking injury to his biceps last night. The Red Sox haven't picked up a new outfielder as far as we know.

  • Greg Maddux was dealt to the Dodgers in exchange for Cesar Izturis.

  • Dave Littlefield is making up for all his past non-trades by dealing his entire roster. The latest victim is Craig Wilson, who is heading to the Yankees in exchange for Shawn Chacon. If you ever wondered how little Littlefield really thought of Wilson, this should tell you.

  • Kip Wells is heading to Arlington in exchange for Jesse Chavez.

  • Todd Walker is moving to San Diego in exchange for 19-year old minor league pitcher Jose Ceda.

  • SI.com is reporting the Mets have dealt Xavier Nady to the Pirates for Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez And this probably has a lot to do with it.

  • Matt Stairs was dealt to the Rangers in exchange for minor leaguer right-handed pitcher Joselo Diaz.

  • Chris Shelton was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to make room on the roster for Sean Casey.

  • Rheal Cormier was traded to the Reds in exchange for Justin Germano; Cormier signed an extension for 2007 with an option for the 2008 season. If Cormier was available for Germano, it kind of makes you wonder why Austin Kearns had to go to Washington.

  • Kyle Lohse was sent to the Reds in exchange for Zachary Ward

  • The Rangers wired some money over to Colorado in exchange for 31-year old Miguel Ojeda, who is now a trade deadline acquisition veteran.

  • The Rangers make another deal, this time swapping right-handers with the Red Sox: Bryan Corey for Luis Mendoza. You can check out the trade breakdown at Over the Monster
