We're going to try out some Community Projections for random players. I'll start by closing my eyes, scrolling through a spreadsheet and picking a player at random. No, seriously. In the comments mention who else you want to do a projection for if you like this idea.

Casey Kotchman
Let's take the PECOTA and ZiPS projections, as well as my own projection (which is based off of nothing more than the spreadsheet in my head) and then in the comments section you can make your best effort as well. We'll check up on these at the end of the season to see how smart we all are (I hope).
I'm about 95% sure my numbers actually mathematically work, because I plugged them into a spreadsheet that figured AVG/OBP/SLG based off of formulas, but I may have missed something along the way for those who want to be a stickler about it. And well you should be, as pointing out mistakes is what we like to do around here. Breeds character and makes you better at what you do. What are you, some kind of wussy? A million points plus one to whoever knows that reference, just because I love that show.
Anyways, back on topic. My power projection for Kotchman is a little higher than PECOTA and ZiPS, who I thought may have been too hard on him. Of course, this is only the basic PECOTA projection; I'm sure my projection lines up with his 75th percentile projection, which is certainly within his limits. That is why I love PECOTA by the way, the fact that it lays out basically all the options for you. Leave your own projections within the comments section for Kotchman. In fact, I'll even upload the spreadsheet I used so you can get the numbers correct if you want to. Here it is, enjoy, and let me know who you want to do this to next in the comments.
