To borrow from Ford Prefect and the rest of the hitchikers, don't panic, there's yet another writers at BTB! (My apologies for not posting sooner, this week was finals week for me).
Anyhow, my name's Matthew Kizner, I'm also a college student (at WPI, if you know where it is). I'm studying to be an organic chemist, and much like my colleagues, I'm an incredibly big baseball fan, and I love to write. For those of you who read us at Baseball Rants, I was Marc's initial partner, so that's how I ended up here with him.
I fell in love with baseball at an early age because of my dad, who was himself a huge fan. Besides amassing a giant trading card collection, I got really into the numbers and mechanics of the game.
It was also around this time that I ran into this cool kid in a Red Sox hat named Marc Normandin. We became fast friends, and his infectious thirst for anything and everything baseball rubbed off on me. Before I knew it, I was in fantasy leagues with him, projecting stats, and finding myself writing the very same articles you see now.
I'm definitely no expert at stats, but I fancy myself to be pretty knowledgeable, so I hope you enjoy reading my, as well as Marc and Dan's works, and thank you for coming to read Beyond the Boxscore on SBNation.
