Why, baseball, did you tease me like that? Why did you try to convince me that MVP Ryan Braun's positive test was false, or improperly handled, or something like that.
Ryan Braun has cheated, probably twice, or more. He lied the first time(s). But I can handle that. Athletes, celebrities, political leaders lie to our faces all the time. Braun cheated, big deal, shame on him.
But even more shame on the MLB. I cannot trust anything the MLB tells the public now. Major League Baseball decided that clearing Braun's name in 2011 was more important than having a clean game, on and off the field. Who knows what else the league has covered up in the past decade? The fraud culture of the MLB front office might go past steroids, we just don't know.
The MLB is supposedly has the best drug testing game in the business. But if this testing system were so good, and players were so afraid, then why are 20 something names being tossed around for steroid connections?
The Biogenesis list is not a list of minor leaguers, or players who didn’t know the rules. We’re talking about a used-to-be Hall of Famer and a handful of all stars.
I’m not saying it’s OK to cheat, lie, or take steroids. What I am saying is that the MLB is failing bigtime. The goons in Major League Baseball’s front office are far more foolish than Mr. Braun.
