That would be the rather large discrepancy between the respective starting short stops…

That what it is today, I guess.

Though I have a hard time believing he jumped from 5.6 WAR to 6.2 in the past 24 hours.

Here’s what he had when I pulled it:
BAT: 43.8
BSR: 2.5
FLD: -2.3
RPL: 11.3
POS: -3.2
===
RAR: 52.1 = 5.6 WAR

Here’s today:
BAT: 47.3
BSR: 2.7
FLD: -1.0
RPL: 12.1
POS: -3.2
===
RAR: 58.0 = 6.2 WAR

Something goofy happened, and I have a feeling he didn’t hit 6 bombs and steal 3/3 bases…

Bautista does split time between 3rd and Right Field

FanGraphs weights the positional adjustment based on playing time, so maybe he got a boost that way?

Jeter

has no place in this All-Star game. That’s the problem you run into when you let fan voting determine who “All-Stars” are. Granted I’m not saying Jeter isn’t Hall worthy, I’m just saying there are much better players at that position at the present.
