Small Sample Size and the Art of Ignoring It.
Looking at the above standings, it's somewhat humorous to note that it is more or less the exact opposite of where I have these teams at the end of the year. And in the fine art of acknowledging SSS and immediately proceeding to ignore it, I'll take this (and the coming series of these) to the crowd:
1. After 14-15 games, have any of these teams revealed something about themselves that you hadn't previously noticed?
2. Despite what you may project either to do over a longer period of time, is seeing KC and CLE at the top an indication to you that they've arrived? Or that they're closer than most of us thought?
3. Which of these teams is lying to us and hiding their true ability (or lack thereof)? Is KC's starting pitching a mirage that only a continued hot streak by Billy Butler and Alex Gordon can continue to hide? Can Cleveland keep it up? Can Minnesota be kept down?
And finally:
Poll
