The All-Marine Team: Fish, Boats, Sea Life, and Baseball
Bottom of the 9th, two outs, bases loaded with Carp, Trout, Bass and Scales steps to the plate. Funny as it is, never underestimate the players with first or last names that you might as well find in the Baltimore Acquarium. Nevertheless, following a great thinkpiece from the Padres broadcast booth in June, 2009 when the Friars hosted the Mariners (and Mike Carp's debut, which inspired the discussion) I've built the all-marine team.

Odd that this came up now. A friend went to Monday’s Lehigh Valley IronPigs game and sent me a photo of the first plate appearance. It has pitcher Brian Bass throwing to catcher Dane Sardinha (Sardin-ha) with Boomer Whiting at the plate. Such instances give me a wave of excitement.
