Excel Question

I have a large group of data for batters approx 800 players and their stats. I also have data for 800 pitchers and their stats. I used a formula to calculate the total worth of a player based on his stats. I used two different formulas for pitchers and hitters. I came up with total score for each player. My question is how do I sort the "total score" to include both pitchers and batters total score in the same column. The data is in two separate spread sheets. I tried  copying and pasting one set of data from one page onto the other. But I encountered problems because the stats used for hitters and pitchers is different but in the same cell column, which caused the formulas to get messed up when I sorted the "total score". For example in the spreadsheet, Cell M was Run Scored for batters and Innings pitched for pitchers. Can anyone offer any solutions? Thanks.
