I remember as a kid always hearing that Bret Saberhagen was notorious for alternating between awesome years and "meh" years. I wondered if this happened with his WAR, too (using rWAR here). Turns out, his WAR pretty much behaved the same way—although it was never bad.

I was looking at historical ratios for pitchers earlier
and Saberhagen’s 1994 season’s BB/9, K/BB are pretty ridiculous. Also it can’t be stressed enough how awesome Pedro’s peak was.
