I'm looking for an article that I can cite to that looks at the data of declining players. I'd prefer one that uses WAR - perhaps one that focuses on power hitters (but general population is fine). Anyone know of a good one? Thanks!

These are tough to do correctly.
MGL did a great one at The Book Blog, but it was for the general population.
Now, I may be able to do one that is less robust and get you an idea of what the type of players do? Interested?

That sounds
great.
What exact subset of players do you want to look at
Just power hitters doesn’t cut. For example, anyone that hit over 30 compared to rest of league. Iso in a certain range.

I think 30 is a cutoff
Also – you don’t have a link for the one from The Book Blog, do you? I looked for it but couldn’t come up with it.
I don't know if this is the one Jeff was referring to but
Here it is anyway: http://www.insidethebook.com/ee/index.php/site/comments/mgls_aging_study/
Pull up a chair since it’s long, but good.
Enjoy.
