LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- Jeff Francoeur started last season with the New York Mets and wound up in the World Series with the Texas Rangers.
The strong-armed outfielder was on the move again Wednesday, reaching agreement with the Kansas City Royals on a one-year contract for $2.5 million. The deal includes a mutual option for $4 million in 2012 and is subject to a physical.
Predictable, sure. But not a completely horrible contract, which more or less recongizes that he's worth less than 1 WAR. Somehow, I'm proud of Dayton. He gets his dream player as a placeholder in the outfield, Royals fans comforted that the damage will be limited to a single season (so far).

Hysterical.
No complaint about the contract. I just think it’s beyond hysterical that Francoeur ended up with the Royals. I mean, really, I honestly thought that the quips about all former Braves prospects ending up on Kansas City were really just the result of coincidences. The idea that Frenchy would end up there was just a funny joke. And yet, there he is!
