Why Was Weaver More Successful Than McDonald
For my next attempt at PITCHf/x analysis, I'm taking a look at the Dodgers first game against the Padres on 4/30. James McDonald got the start but lasted only 1.2 innings, giving up 3 runs with 4 walks and 0 strikeouts. Jeff Weaver came in to relieve him and pitched 4 scoreless innings with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. I try to find out what the differences were in their performances.

I haven’t before seen a pitch results graph based on movement. I usually see them based on location.
