What Was the Difference in Clayton Kershaw's Last Two Starts?
A link to my analysis using PITCHf/x of the differences in Clayton Kershaw's last two starts. In the first he had 13 K's and gave up only one hit to the Giants and in the second he was pounded for 6 runs in 4.1 innings by the Astros.

So all of his pitches broke downward more in the Houston start?
And his release point was higher? I know that second one can be a result of inconsistencies between different parks’ pitch f/x systems, but can movement be off like that?

I'm not sure
Harry asked the same questions as you in the actual post’s comments. I didn’t know there were significant differences in the PITCHf/x systems between parks.

I only know because Harry tells me these things.

He is a genius. :-)
I guess it’d be hard to compare starts using PITCHf/x when they’re not in the same park then wouldn’t it?

With the raw data, yes. But you can make adjustments for the differences...
