DePo Gets Cast
On the entertainment front, Variety reports that Padres wunderkind, former Billy Beane assistant and major Moneyball character Paul DePodesta has been cast for Moneyball the movie.
He'll be played by Demetri Martin, who I've never heard of, and don't recognize even after looking at his face on Google Images.
Anyone have enough familiarity with Martin to have an idea of what kind of direction this is going?

As someone who spends a fair amount of time in movie conversation circles. . .
. . . and who moderates one of the larger movie boards out there (cinemablend.com), I find it hilarious how many pundits are talking about how bad this movie will be because it’s going to be about stastics, showing they dont’ really actually understand Moneyball the book.
Which is just entirely fitting given how many people argue about moneyball the strategic theory without actually understanding it.

He's a comedian who's appear on one of the Comedy channel fake news shows and had his own special.
Other than that, didn’t know he acted. Just a writer, really.
Beyond the Boxscore // Calling BJ Upton lazy is lazy.
I agree
He was here in Albany last week but I didn’t get a chance to see the show.

Martin is a comedian
Former writer for Conan, and has his own show on Comedy Central. He is kinda like Seinfeld, but more far fetched (and less funny). Awful casting for this role.
I want to hear DePo’s thoughts on this. Hopefully he tackles it on his blog.
