Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Cahill412

Putting RJ's Graphing 101 lessons to use. Cahill's start on 4/12. Cahill allowed just 1 ER on 2 hits over 7.1 IP but was the losing pitcher.

I was fortunante enough to watch this game

And Cahill looked great. The graph confirms what I thought, which is his fastball had great movement too it.

Reminded me of a cross between Webb and Maddux, which is a scary thought.

I've heard elsewhere that his sinker was on, but his command was off.

And that his command is the biggest thing between him and a stud MLB pitcher. Others agree?

that's what I have read at least

from multiple scouting reports. 42.5% of his pitches have been called balls this season so far. I’ve heard the Webb comparison more than once, I suppose Webb struggled with command and control early on in his career.

Absolutely correct

His stuff has been as hyped—his sinker is ridiculous, even when he leaves it up he can get swings and misses. I’ve read people say they weren’t impressed with his stuff, but they know nothing. His control, however, is absent. If he had a half a year to a whole year to hone his control and work on hitting the knees, he’ll be a stud. Otherwise, he’ll just have good days when his stuff gets him through everything and bad days when he walks everyone.

Control

Sure, it was off. Still, he’s young a should improve as the year goes on.

Pretty terrible.

A noob or n00b is someone that lacks intellegance or common sense, most people think that noob is a word used only in the online gaming world, but in reality it is becoming an ever popular word with teenage society.

a noob could be simply a level 100 running round shouting ‘’WTF DO I GO!?’’ or someone calling someone else a noob and then getting hit with a brick, anyone can call anyone a noob, but normally they are noobs themselves

maybe just that cutter

Can you spot the five guys NOT in the Hall of Fame? It's easy, I separated 'em for ya. :)

Here's the full post about guys elected to the Hall of Fame primarily for their defense. Guys like Brooks Robinson, Ozzie Smith, Bobby Wallace, John Ward, and Bid McPhee stand up as definite HOFers, with many others worthy of debate (and a couple aren't worth any debate at all).

I almost made it through the whole post without comparing some HOFers to our friends Bill Dahlen, Lou Whitaker, Bobby Grich, Alan Trammell, and Ron Santo. Almost.
