Griffey's a lock, right?
Thomas matches his career season for season, except that his best three seasons, while still in the 7.5 to 8.0 WAR range, are 1 to 2 wins below Griffey’s. So, Thomas should be, what, 75% of a lock?
There are a lot of good bashers from the past 10 to 15 years without much defensive value (McGwire, Sosa, etc.) Thomas is the best, lasted the longest, and was so good at the plate he matches up with guys who actually had defensive skills.

I sure hope so for Frank Thomas.
I recall reading a JoePo article (correct me if anyone remembers the article with a different author) that talked about how Frank Thomas was amazing at the plate for so many years and a hardcore anti-drug-use guy, even willingly speaking to the Mitchell Report.
