Seriously though, over the last three years here are Griffey's positional + fielding numbers:
-22.7
-37.3
-18.8
Weight that 5-4-3 and you get around -30 runs. Griffey is gaining a few runs shifting to DH. Assuming he does shift to DH 95% of the time. The contract is cheap, and if the increased ticket sales talk works out, then good for them. Griffey made more sense than Garrett Anderson anyways.

It never happened if I never acknowledge it.

I've wanted to see Cornell badly for a long time
and even thought the ticket are reasonably priced, I don’t think I could vote “yes” with my consumer dollar while he’s promoting it.
That was covered in [blah, blah, blah]
Pay better attention next time.

And most of them are like Mike Wilbon.

Hank Aaron had over 700 homeruns. The Brewers should bring him back!
Beyond the Boxscore // Calling BJ Upton lazy is lazy.
Thinking more of the opening of Casino Royale (2006)
“Don’t worry, Bond, it’s easier [the second time].”
Bond (destroying Mariner hopes): “Yes, it is.”
By the 600 argument, Barry Bonds would have been a better signing.
You've inspired me R. J. I made another graph
I know, a really original idea. I posted it at Driveline.
go there for the larger version, but for now, here’s thumb of Griffey vs. the DH adjustment, 2002-2008
Bringing you more-or-less replacement level analysis and commentary since sometime in 2008.

I moved to one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Seattle, to an apartment with two-thirds of the square-footage for $200 more per month, just so I could be closer to Safeco.
Now I’m going to be surrounded by people that hate Adrian Beltre, have no idea who Franklin Gutierrez is and expect Griffey to hit 40 home runs in 2009.
Goddammit.
