Three Facts: Seattle Mariners
Stop me if you've heard this before, but their defense will be improved. Replacing the statue of Raul Ibanez in left and rolling Yuniesky Betancourt into shape - or perhaps unrolling - with the addition of Ronny Cedeno is going to help out pitchers like Carlos Silva and Jarrod Washburn.
Bullpen casserole! The Mariners have added Tyler Walker, Luis Pena, David Aardsma, Garrett Olson, and Jason Vargas on major league deals or through trades and has non-roster invitees like Eric Hull, Tyler Johnson, Shawn Kelley, Denny Stark (he's still pitching?), and the best name in baseball: Chris Jakubauskas. Yes, Jakubauskas.
That's not the only fun name on the Mariners. Reegie Corona, Bryan LaHair, Matt Tuiasosopo, Wladimir Balentien, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Marwin Vega, and Callix Crabbe. Not entirely relevant to baseball skill, but I never claimed it was.

Seattle Mariner
I’ve enjoyed this series, especially the parts on the Texas Ranger, Los Angeles Angel of Anaheim, the Baltimore Oriole, and the Toronto Blue Jay.
(Yes i am being a sarcastic jerk-face, but the title’s lack of plurality has been bugging me)
Scored three times and detonated an indisputable in four visits to the batting box.

Meh
Funny names is the only thing that football beats baseball. I mean, how amazing would it been if we had a guy called Legedu Naanee?

It may shock you given the fact that we're on a baseball site. . .
. . . but I think football beats baseball in almost every way.
Just sayin’.

Garrett Olson
Assuming he breaks into the rotation, I could see his ERA taking a nosedive from last year’s 6.65 figure. I’d peg him somewhere around 4.50 considering the defense behind him, and the much less hospitable confines of Safeco. Not to mention his stellar minor league track record suggests his core numbers will improve.

Is Ronny Cedeno(I don’t think I spelled that right) starting?

God I hope so.
But I think the job is Betancourt’s to lose.
Which he did last year, but whatever.

But what will they do without Ibanez' leadership and veteran grit?
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
