I've been waiting and wondering whether BTB plans to publish a similar series this year but thought I'd ask this morning. The series had started by now the last two years so that makes me a little worried you don't plan to role this out again. Just wondering if this is in the plans or if I should stop getting upset every day I check the forums to see it has not begun yet? Thanks and keep up the excellent work.

With Fangraphs now publishing WAR lead boards, this series seems a bit extraneous.
Might still be good link bait with the commentary, however. Or maybe add in BPro’s baserunning metric and average in non-UZR defensive metrics? And apply league adjustments. Yeah, might be worth doing, but I don’t think I’ll get to it.

I did that kind of thing for the Reds
Included FanGraphs’ stuff, plus park adjustments, BPro running, Fan Scouting fielding, leverage for relievers, etc. Wouldn’t be super hard to extend this for all players. However, at this point, I think most people are more interested in 2010 than 2009.

Sad to hear, really enjoyed the breakdown and commentary as something to do in the off-season and looking forward. Thanks.
If someone out there wants to do the commentary, I could supply the data.
I’d need a week or two to get it done (I’m under the gun with a few other projects right now), but I’m game for it. I’d rather not do the commentary, though, because a) I’d rather continue my historical WAR review series, and b) I’m more personally interested in projections right now than recapping last year’s performances.

If I can get the 2009 PZR data from MGL I might do something similar with pitchers only
I might give the top 10 pitchers (by PZR) in each league, including pitcher hitting (in order to obtain a measurement of pitchers’ total value). I wouldn’t do anything for the hitters though.
