I'm actually a closet fan of Hank Blalock.
But I don’t think KC needs another marginal 1B with medium power and questionable fielding ability.

I'd like to. Any suggestions?
I’m thinking that establishing a position-avg DVC chart for each and then highlighting the higher profile FAs. Jeff Z had a great idea about establishing some replacement level and league average boundaries
But if you have any other ideas I’m certainly open to hearing about them.

I would love to see Branyan in a hitter's park.
That is all.

Have we decided his career year isn't an outlier?

I'd think so...
Seeing how his 2009 was basically in line with his career averages, only he played every day.

Played everyday for the first four months.
After the All-Star break, he had continual back problems that eventually knocked him out for the season. If his back stays healthy and he plays out the last 6-8 weeks of the season, his numbers would have been even better.

is Branyan not an A or B free agent?

Eric Hinske: Somebody sign that man!
He’s a human vacuum at first base!
It might be better to use 3-year UZR samples for these graphs (which are incredible btw)

Did I read correctly that the Royals signed Betemit on purpose?
Can’t they read a simple graph?
