Barry Larkin's Case for the Hall of Fame
I compare Barry Larkin to BBWAA-elected shortstops already in the Hall of Fame. He compares very favorably--an above-average HoF SS, and probably an average HoF'er overall.

I'm interested
in how Larkin compares w/ Trammell. Does Larkin belong? Probably, and I suppose he’ll probably get in but w/ BBWAA nothing’s guaranteed.

Did a WAR graph

Trammell had a better peak, Larkin’s career totals are slightly better. Very similar players overall. I’d induct them both.

thanks
good graph. I wonder how the voters will react to Vizquel. You’re right that he’s just not close but I wonder if he won’t get a lot of consideration anyway.

personally, i dont think Omar gets in
if those outta-this-world Indians teams in the mid-90’s had won it all, it would probably be a different story. same goes for Thome.

Thome has a legit case, though, plus the fancy counting numbers
The same’s not true of Omar.
