Markakis signs extension
Arb-adjusted and without inflation factored in, I have Markakis worth ~65 million over the next 6 years, and that's with a 0.3 win decline annually. Seems like a pretty solid deal for both sides.

Considering it buys the first three years of free agency
I think this is a great deal from the team’s perspective. About the right amount of money, but I’m surprised Markakis went beyond a 4 or 5 year extension. Also, I doubt there will be a win decline over the first few years, as I think Markakis is on the upswing toward his peak performance.
