Michael Young is "Livid"
Long story short: Young wants a trade after being asked to move to third base.

Hey, they used +/- at the end of the article.
Or alluded to it anyhow.

ahahahahahahaha
Given his contract and his reputation as a team player I see no reason why the Rangers shouldn’t be able to move him

Agreed
He really has one of the worst contracts in baseball, non-Zito division.

That's amusing
The Brewers actually might have a similar situation with Hardy and Escobar, but Hardy is actually a good defender.

And isn't owed $80M over the next 5 seasons...
And has positive trade value.

young isn’t owed quite that much money. texas was nice enough to give him some of that already.

How are players this disconnected from reality
when it comes to their defense? It’s really remarkable.

Fangraphs made a good point
Michael Young has gone from terrible to merely somewhat bad over the past few years. This would indicate that he’s trying to improve and doing so fairly successfully. I could see why he’s mad about that.
Still, it doesn’t mean his contract isn’t one of the worst in baseball. It is.

Here was what I wrote at Baseball Fever:
I’ve always thought the contract was stupid. MY was once among my favorite players ever, but I care about the Rangers far more than any individual. I don’t blame him for the contract, but it certainly made me less happy to have him on the team. And, after he was worth something closer to half of what he’s due THROUGH 2013 in his age 31 season, I want him gone. Preferably for anything that’s not another bad contract. Including (quite litterally) a bag of balls.
When C.J. Wilson came out and, basically, said baseball players are ignorant douchebags in ESPN, Michael Young was the one who threw a fit. Michael Young was the one who said players aren’t douchebags and the one who told CJ to shut up. And, presumably, the one who told him to quit Lone Star Ball, where “BlueGloveLefty” was a regular poster. That made me start to hate him.
Then there’s the way Rangers fans worship him. Fans who might otherwise be reasonable cannot be reasonable with MY. Fans who trash the Gold Glove turn the other way and pretend his GG was deserved. They make up things about his class and leadership with no support, and act like that makes him an elite player. They’ll fight any logical person tooth and nail that he’s better than the logical person thinks. Any evidence is dismissed with Michael Young. Basically, you can’t say anything to a lot of Rangers fans about MY that isn’t glowing praise, or they’ll bite your head off, no matter how right you are. That makes me hate him.
Fortunately I live nowhere near Dallas, but I do get to hear the Rangers media perform proverbial fellatio on him for every little thing, instead of just approaching him without bias.
When MY a while ago said he didn’t want to move, I dealt with those same fans and media saying (not so nicely to my doubting words), “well, if they do actually ask him to move, I’m sure he’ll do so gracefully.” HA! Told you so!
And then there’s the fact that his defense sucks. And that his bat is clearly in decline. And he’s old. And that even when he was good he was overrated. It just starts to make me hate him on the field.
So now there’s this. I can’t even like him off the field, either. He’s a whiney idiot. The team suggests he do something to help them win and he throws a fit and wants to be traded. Well, Michael Young, we want the same thing. I’ve wanted you traded for a while. And thanks to you, now not only do I get to laugh at idiot jerks and say “I told you so,” but I have no reservations about wanting you traded. No longer would seeing you leave be bitter sweet, saying goodbye to one of the best Rangers ever and one of my favorite players. Now it would only be sweet.
I hope you get your wish, and good riddance if you do.

I shouldn't blame MY for CJ leaving LSB.
Misspoke. More meant when I was new some posters were blaming MY’s reaction for CJ quitting and I blamed him for that at the time.

I thought he meant Baseball-Fever, not LSB.

Michael Young:
Derek Jeter without the bat, in a bandbox, with less speed
and sometimes, even less defense!
