[Regarding the experts' lack of ability to predict 2008 team records:] I really can't stress enough how funny it is that [Buster] Olney does worse than just using previous year's record... Here's a guy who probably follows baseball as closely as anyone on the planet, and he isn't adding an ounce of information to last year's records with his predictions. It's kind of incredible, really.

my predictions rank just ahead of Keither Law and behind Rob Neyer
of course, I’m pretty sure all I did was peruse the PECOTA and CHONE win predictions and make personal tweaks, actually just making them a bit worse. you don’t have to BE smart to LOOK smart, something a lot of mainstream experts have taken in the opposite direction.
