Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Guy (Chicago): OK, this is a pretty specific request for a prediction, but if you had to pick one player who will have the best postseason this year (a sort of Playoff MVP), who would it be?

SportsNation Steve Phillips: The guy to look out for in the playoffs this year is Dustin Pedroia. His consistency this year has been second to none, after a slow start, and he has that ability to elevate his game in big moments without trying to hard. It's a special trait for such a little guy. If the Mets make the playoffs, it will take all the pressure off of them, and they are going to be a tough team to beat, and I suspect that David Wright could have a huge postseason.

I don't know

Joe Morgan doesn’t make predictions.

Haha

Phillips just needs to open with “I don’t know. I can’t answer that. We’ll have to wait and see.” followed by that answer and it’s pretty much Joe Morgan.

I also love how a player can show “consistency” despite having “a slow start.”

I also liked the consistency statement,

followed immediately with mention of his slow start, then later discussing his ability to elevate his game when he needs to.

Goes up and down at the right times = model of consistency?

There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

Is the joke that he suddenly jumped from the DESTROYAH to David Wright?

Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.

No.

It’s a combination of things starting with him responding with more than one player, and this:

“His consistency this year has been second to none, after a slow start,”

Yeah. I got that after I posted my comment.

Too much damn knee pain to think clearly.
