Jay Jaffe points out that there have been many streaks by many other players better than Manny's 180 plate appearances with the Dodgers. We just notice his streak more because his stat line reset when switching leagues. It's like the phenomenon of falling in love with players for their April numbers and forgetting to jump of the bandwagon even after a poor April or May.
